  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Elementary Education degree preferred
  • Arkansas teaching certificate for grades 7-12 preferred (any subject area considered).

Full-time Teacher Assistant (3-5 positions)

 

Job Description:

 

  • Adhere to company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Become knowledgeable with Montessori terminology and methods.
  • Assist the lead teacher with providing the children with a “prepared environment”.
  • Keep the classroom clean and inviting.
  • Assist with individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the students in social, emotional and academic areas.
  • Assist the students in:
  • Completing work cycles.
  • Choosing work.
  • Returning work to the shelves when they have completed their task.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents and co-workers.
  • Participate in all open houses and school programs.
  • Serve snack and lunch while helping students to learn how to help themselves.
  • Allow students to be as independent as possible.
  • Teach small group lessons

 

Training:

 

  • Comprehensive training in the above tasks will be provided.

 

Qualifications:

 

A clear Background Check; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; interest in pursuing state teaching certification and/or Montessori certification; a clear Background Check; the physical capacity to work with school-aged children (includes but is not limited to: bending, minor lifting, working on the floor)

 

Salary:

 

            Average pay $18,000 per year commensurate with training/experience.

Head of School (1 position)

 

Building principal for grades PreK-8.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Either: Arkansas teaching and/or building administrator license, OR, Montessori administrator’s certification, OR, charter school principal experience, OR Montessori Head of School experience required
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching required
  • Bilingual Spanish-English preferred
